"Of course he wanted to win. Those who saw him compete and those who competed against him were never in any doubt how much he wanted to win. But how he won mattered to him more. Pre thought I was a hard case. But he finally got it through my head that the real purpose of running isn't to win a race. It's to test to the limits of the human heart. That he did... Nobody did it more often. Nobody did it better."

Waking Pulse: 13 in 15 seconds
Circuits! Felt stronger than last week-hopefully a good sign! I hope the mile goes well--I CANNOT WAIT to break 5 (or die trying). There will be a LOT of interesting races. I'm excited!
Your morning pulse was 52! That's fantastic Kevin. You're really fit cardiovascular-wise. That's where we want to start. You're going to need to concentrate on getting to the balls of your feet and really concentrating on the moments when I give you the opportunity to run faster. You're opening in the mile which should be less of a shock for you after XC than a 1k or a 600. Those are coming.
