Happy New Year's Eve!

63 minutes + 6 strides. Was a very fun long run! Trails were mostly snowed over so had to make some unexpected road detours. The weather was nice--not too cold but not too warm. Sunny all the way! Everyone was walking their dogs outside too and people were very eager to say hi or good morning. Everything felt fine--just a little sore/tight from yesterday's intense workout.

15 up 15 down. Ran 20x200 Repeats at 1k ish goal pace--pretty intense! Glad to have this speed and pacing exercise done--especially at Reggie. All the splits were between 35-36 except for 2 (the first and the last were a little off) but other than that it was good. Focused on form increasingly towards the later repeats. Ran with Chris Joseph and Christian--a good group! I feel so ready to run the 1k like saturday...

OH And I got 1 black punch buggy on an unsuspecting chris on the way to reggie =)

15 up, 15 down and 10 x 400 repeats. Whew. Intense speed! Glad to have it--especially for the races coming up in 2 weeks. Ran with Chris and Dan--workout went quite well. Even Dan was quite enthusiastic for the 10th repeat. We felt pretty exhausted afterwards. Efforts were consistent--84-86 on the snow pavement, 77-78 on the road; interesting how big the time gaps were! I suppose the snow does really slow you down. We opted to do the road from the 4th repeat onward.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Went for a nice run with Scott. 49 minutes and four strides. It was awfully quiet on the roads! We saw Pri and Michael Zhang though. The weather was only mildly cold so it was quite enjoyable. Knee and ankle were a bit sore during the run--debating about whether to replace this pair of worn out trainers now. HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

Happy Christmas Eve! Not feeling particularly sore from yesterday--yesterday was EXHAUSTING though. Today I went on green arrow trail with Ryan around Morses pond--a very fun 45-50 minutes. The snow and mild temperatures and blue sky with lots of sun made it very enjoyable! Ryan was also testing out his new yak traks. Interesting stuff.

16 up and down. Temple hill repeats! Possibly one of the toughest workouts this year--endurance wise, mentally, and physically. Glad to have such an awesome group to run it with!! Weather was mildly cold. Developed minor cramps during repeat 6-7 but fought through it--probably a useful skill to have during the race too! I was pleased with the concentration on arms--I remember saying 1-2-3-4 over and over and swinging my arms as I went up hill. Impressive effort from everyone!
HAPPY WINTER VACATION!!!

Blue arrow trail again! Snowed quite a bit today--made visibility a bit tough but it was an enjoyable run nonetheless with Ryan Chan, Chris Lu, and Bennett Capozzi. The trail is truly a nice route to take--good for the knees and legs too, especially after the soreness from circuits yesterday. About 60ish minutes with 6 strides. Highly productive in terms of punch buggies as well.

Circuits! Possibly the hardest set I've done this year...or for a while. Perhaps it was the sequencing of all exercises then 4x400 at the end. Nonetheless, it felt good overall. I think I pushed myself harder today than past times as well. I have a feeling things will be sore tomorrow...
Happy to have Scott back as well! Wonderful seeing all these alumni return.

Flows! A bit sad we didn't get babson today. But the snow made the track quite soft and comfortable--it didn't affect footing too much either. Paces were quite solid--getting back into proper pacing will take a few tries. Ryan is very helpful! SO HAPPY to have him back too! With 15 up and 18 down and those repeats, it was a decent mileage day as well. Circuits tomorrow!

GREAT weather for hill drills. Went for over 30 minutes today--notably more than last time. I hope next time to go 35.

Blue Arrow Trail! I loved this run. Greg and Chris came back and MD traveled as a group. Plus the loop was mostly trails and grass in unexplored terrain--it was quite exciting! Also got rid of most of the soreness from yesterday. I'll be set for hills tomorrow!

Race day! 5:12. Not particularly gratifying...perhaps partially because we went out in a 20 second 100m. Nonetheless, I felt how I expected to feel: caught a bit unawares, relatively strong but not fast, and loads of fun. The impromptu 4x400 was great too--I remembered how much I love that event. I hope my form today was better than last year's. The training goes on!

VERY EXCITED for the race tomorrow. The Mile is the best. My goal, although perhaps unattainable at this point, is to go 36 high and through the first 400 in 73-74. Breaking 5 the first meet would be awesome. If it does not happen though, I will accept it--it WILL happen this season.

Base run was fun, albeit a bit cold. Light snow in the ground as we did a Waban Loop and strides.

Circuits! Felt stronger than last week-hopefully a good sign! I hope the mile goes well--I CANNOT WAIT to break 5 (or die trying). There will be a LOT of interesting races. I'm excited!

SO BUMMED that I had to miss a fast flow Babson Workout!!! Oh well--sacrifices are sacrifices. The choral rehearsal was pretty intense--rough as it is every year but I still believe the concert tomorrow will be great. Fortunately this only happens once (maybe twice?) a season so the majority of the season will not be interrupted. I cannot wait to return to Babson next time!

Hills at Elm Bank! The circuit loops definitely are useful--they seem to add more of a cardio component as well to the strength aspect of it. Very nice weather--blue skies, minimal wind, mid40s. Race next week!

Canadians indoors. Warmer, but the tiles hurt a bit more. Prepping for hills tomorrow!!

Fun half day. 60 minutes with a modified Waban loop. Sunny weather! Quite windy. Was fun but a bit lonely. 6 strides kinda felt slow but maybe it was the wind or just tiredness from circuits. Those were pretty fun. Also had fun at a math meet! Successful day.
